The Falcons' annual WBCA Pink Zone game is Wednesday night
WBCA Pink Zone Game Set for Wednesday
February 14, 2011 | Women's Basketball
Falcons will face Ohio at Anderson Arena
Fans are encouraged to think pink on Wednesday (Feb. 16), when the Bowling Green State University women's basketball team hosts Ohio University. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Anderson Arena.
The game is the Falcons' annual Pink Zone game in support of breast cancer awareness. The Pink Zone initiative, created by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), began in 2007 as a unified effort to raise awareness for breast cancer through women's basketball, both on campuses and in communities. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game in support of the initiative.
The women's basketball Falcons will be wearing special pink T-shirts during pre-game warmups, and the first 1,000 fans will receive a free pink T-shirt as well.
Wednesday's game is one of only three home regular-season games left in Anderson Arena for the women's basketball Falcons. The team will move to the brand-new Stroh Center in time for the 2011-12 season.
More information on the WBCA and the organization's Pink Zone initiative can be found at the WBCA web site.
