Both teams coming out victorious, with Bowling Green taking the second game by a score of 14-1. The last time these two teams played was in 2010-11, where the Falcons hosted the Golden Hawks, coming out victorious, 4-3, in an exhibition game.
Exhibition Success
The Falcons will enter Saturday's contest against Wilfrid Laurier with a record of 6-0 in exhibition games since the 2000-01 season. During that time, the Orange and Brown have outscored their opponents 45-12. All five of those games have also been played at the BGSU Ice Arena, home of the Falcons.
Captains Return (Again)
Senior Cam Wojtala and junior Ryan Carpenter step back out on the ice being named captains for the 2013-14 season, marking it the second consecutive year the duo will serve in the role of the Falcons. The duo has been captains of the Orange and Brown since the 2011-12 campaign, which marked the first season in the history of the program that Bowling Green did not select a captain. Wojtala recorded eight goals and eight assists for 16 points in 37 games, while Carpenter tallied 18 goals and 15 assists for 33 points in 41 games in the 2012-13 season.
30-point Club (Again)
Carpenter led Bowling Green with 33 points this past season, posting a team-high 18 goals and added 15 assists in 41 games played. It was the second consecutive season in which Carpenter reached the 30-point plateau, as he posted 11 goals and a team-high 19 assists in 44 games in the 2011-12 campaign.
Reaching the 60-Point Plateau
Speaking of, Carpenter reached the 60-point milestone a year ago with 63 career points, leading all Falcons on the current roster. Carpenter is the first Falcon to pass the 60-point mark since David Solway in 2010-11. However, he may not be the only Falcon to have reached that milestone on the current roster. Senior Cam Wojtala is five points away from the milestone with 55 career points, and junior forward Dan DeSalvo is 10 away from the mark with 50 career points.
100 Reasons to Feel Good
The Falcons scored exactly 100 goals last year, reaching the mark for the first time since the 2007-08 season, when Bowling Green scored 106 in 40 games. Under head coach Chris Bergeron, the Orange and Brown have increased in goal scoring every season, scoring 74, 85 and 100 goals respectively.
Burke Returns
Sophomore Tommy Burke returns for his second year as a Falcon. Burke started in 13 games in the net and also made 16 appearances in the 2012-13 season. He finished the season with at least 20 saves in four games and 30 saves in two, helping him finish the year with a .889 save percentage. On the year, Burke logged 841:55 minutes in the net finishing with a record of 5-6-2.

The rookies feature three forwards (Mercier, Dufour, Pohlkamp), one defenseman (Walker) and one goaltender (Sholl).
