Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University Athletics Ticket Office has announced that season tickets for BGSU men's and women's basketball are now on sale. In just two years in the state-of-the-art Stroh Center, BGSU basketball teams have won 76 percent of their contests in the arena, promising a fun and exciting environment.
All season ticket prices will remain the same from 2012-13 with men's basketball season tickets starting at $167 and Anderson Club seats priced at $273 (Falcon Club Membership also required). Women's basketball season tickets start at $118 with Anderson Club seats priced at $185 (Falcon Club Membership also required). For the first time, the BGSU Ticket Office has opened section 102 (directly across from the visitor's bench) for season ticket sales.
As always, BGSU students receive free admission to all BGSU regular season home athletic events by showing their ID at the door.
The BGSU men's basketball team returns eight letter winners, including a pair of starters, from the 2012-13 roster. The Falcons have gone 23-9 in two years in front of the home fans in the Stroh Center with 6-2 Mid-American Conference records in each of those seasons. Under seventh-year head coach Louis Orr, the men's basketball team defeated Horizon League powers Wright State and Detroit a year ago, while pushing Michigan State to the brink of an upset in the Stroh Center.
"I am really looking forward to coaching and mentoring this group of talented, athletic, hardworking and high character young men for this upcoming season," Orr said. "Our potential for growth, chemistry, excitement and success is large. Watching and supporting our young men work hard and compete at home is a large piece to the puzzle. Our guys will have great opportunities for home court excitement and success. We need the Falcon Family to be a big part of the Stroh Center excitement and home court advantage."
Jennifer Roos and BGSU women's basketball team welcome back seven letter winners, including three starters, from the 2012-13 roster. BGSU finished with a 24-11 record last season, and picked up a pair of wins in the WNIT. The Falcons, after going 11-5 in Mid-American Conference play, advanced to a national postseason tournament for the ninth consecutive year. In the WNIT, BG defeated both SMU and Duquesne before falling by three points to Drexel, the eventual tournament champion.
"With every season, our team and staff set goals that we strive to achieve," Roos said. "In addition to our goals, I want our fans to set goals also. Our fans are the most supportive in the Midwest and they need to continue with that support and make that their goal this season. One of the best ways to show that support is through buying season tickets."
Although non-conference schedules have not been released yet, both the BGSU men's and women's basketball teams will play an 18-game conference schedule this year, featuring nine home games against MAC opponents. Both teams will begin their seasons with an exhibition doubleheader at home Nov. 2. More details on the entire home schedule for both teams will be released later in the summer.
