Chris And Di Burch Commit $250,000 To BGSU
September 05, 2013 | General
Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University has announced that Chris and Di Burch have committed $250,000 to BGSU to support the football and volleyball programs, as well as a scholarship in the College of Business.
"The philosophy, ethics and goals of BGSU's professors, coaches and alumni parallel our own," Chris and Di Burch said. "We want our gift to pass on the same spirit and values to future graduates of BGSU."
BGSU Athletics recognized the Burch's at Thursday night's football game and Saturday night's volleyball match. Chris is a 1966 BGSU graduate and he and his wife retired to Bowling Green in 2012. They are involved within the community and University, attending events all across campus. Often, they can be found wishing BGSU student-athletes well as they load buses for away games.
"Chris and Di have become great friends of our program," BGSU Football Coach Dave Clawson said. "Their gift to BGSU, Falcon Athletics and to our football program represents how truly invested they are in the welfare and success of our student-athletes."
"We are so grateful to Chris and Di for their generous gift, which will positively impact the lives of many future Falcon volleyball student-athletes," BGSU Volleyball Coach Danijela Tomic said. "This means a lot to me personally and to the team because it shows how much our program matters to our fans and supporters. We are very thankful to Chris and Di for their kindness and support."
