October 30, 2014 | General
Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will kick off the department's annual Falcons Fighting Hunger Canned Goods Food Drive Saturday as BGSU hosts a triple-header of athletic events. Fans are encouraged to bring canned goods to one or more designated athletic events in November.
Those who donate canned goods will receive a coupon for $4 off a ticket as well as a free 12 oz. fountain drink or popcorn, courtesy of Sodexo.
On Saturday, SAAC will be collecting canned goods at the 3 p.m. men's soccer game vs. Western Michigan, followed by the 5 p.m. volleyball match against Buffalo and the 7 p.m. hockey game against Minnesota State. Student-athletes will again collect at the Nov. 4 men's soccer game at 7 p.m. against Wright State and the Nov. 12 football game at 8 p.m. vs. Kent State. Finally, SAAC will be at the 8 p.m. hockey game on Nov. 14 against Ohio State.
Those donating will receive a coupon good for $4 off one general admission ticket at either volleyball or hockey Saturday, an east side bench reserved ticket to football on Nov. 12, or a general admission ticket for hockey on Nov. 14. The coupon can be used at any one of those contests and does not have to be used at the game in which the canned goods are donated. As well, a coupon for a free 12 oz. fountain drink or popcorn will be given to those bringing canned goods.
