* BGSU's 4-1-0 start to the season is the team's best since 2011, when the Brown and Orange also went 4-1-0 to begin the year. No BG team has had a better five-game start since the 1996 Falcons began with a 4-0-1 mark en route to an 18-4-1 record and a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
* The Falcons have won four consecutive home matches, and BGSU is undefeated in five-straight games at Cochrane Field dating to last season. BG has defeated IUPUI (2-0; Aug. 29), Findlay (8-0; Sept. 2) and Northern Kentucky at home this season. The Brown and Orange downed IPFW by an 8-0 score in last year's final home match, and played Hartwick to a 1-1 draw in the second-to-last game at Cochrane last year.
* NKU's goal on Friday night snapped a home shutout streak of 410:48 for the Falcons. BG had not surrendered a goal at Cochrane Field since the first half of last season's Hartwick game (Oct. 26, 2013).
* The Falcons' last four-game home winning streak came in the 2012 campaign, when BGSU downed Milwaukee, Western Michigan, Buffalo and Wrigiht State at Cochrane from late September through late October.
* BGSU's five-match unbeaten streak at Cochrane is the longest since the 2007 team tied IPFW and Hartwick, then defeated Detroit, Western Michigan and Northern Illinois to end the regular season. The Falcons scored nine goals over those final three matches.
* Sophomore Pat Flynn has nine goals and 20 points on the season. No BG player scored more than 13 points during all of last year. Anthony Grant led the Falcons with 20 points over the entire season two years ago (2012).
* No BG player has had more than nine goals and 20 points since the 2009 campaign, when Cameron Hepple had 10 goals and 21 points for the Falcons. Hepple played in only 12 matches that season due to injury.
* Senior Danny Baraldi's assist on Friday night was the 20th of his BGSU career. He has 54 career points in 59 matches, including 17 goals. Baraldi is just two assists and five points away from moving into the school's career top 10 in those categories.
* Freshman Brad Macomber had the first three-point game of his career, figuring in the scoring of both BG goals. Macomber now has five points on two goals and an assist. He has scored a goal in back-to-back home games, having also found the back of the net vs. Findlay.
* The Falcons have scored 20 goals this season to date after scoring a total of 25 during all of last season. This year's club has scored at least two goals in each of the five games.
* The Falcons now lead the all-time series with NKU, 1-0-1. The only previous meeting was a scoreless draw in Highland Heights, Ky., last season (Sept. 29, 2013).
* NKU head coach John Basalyga is a BGSU graduate, and is the father of BGSU women's soccer coach Lindsay Basalyga. The elder Basalyga, in his 12th year at NKU, is the winningest coach in program history. The starting goalkeeper for the Norse, junior A.J. Fleak, is the brother of Falcon women's soccer freshman forward Skylar Fleak. (A link to interviews with Lindsay Basalyga and Skylar Fleak can be found near the top of this page).
