"It's always nice to get the Falcon family together and we felt the night went great,"head coach Chris Bergeron said. "We really appreciate people taking the time to come and support us."
Entering his fifth season at the helm of the Orange and Brown, roughly 110 Falcon faithful came out to support Bergeron and the BGSU ice hockey program. The Falcons showcased their facility throughout the night, as fans could walk through and see the locker room, workout room, and the lounge that featured new furniture and graphics on the walls.
"We would like to thank you for coming out tonight and showing your support towards our program," senior forward Dan DeSalvo said to the fans. "We can't wait for the season to get started and to see you out at the BGSU Ice Arena."
The season ticket holders and Falcon Club members had the opportunity for an exclusive meet-and-greet event with 2014-15 coaches and players. The event also showcased Director of
Athletics Chris Kingston and got a special inside scoop on the "state of the program" and prospects for the upcoming season.
"The Falcons were two wins away from a WCHA Championship a year ago, Kingston said. "We look forward to having another successful season in 2014-15."
BGSU will now turn their attention to Saturday, Oct. 4 as the Falcons will host Simon Fraser in an exhibition game at the BGSU Ice Arena. The regular season will begin the following weekend, as Bowling Green will play host to Miami University before wrapping up a home-and-home series with the Redhawks on the road Sunday, Oct. 12.
