December 01, 2017 | Women's Track and Field
Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University cross country and track and field programs have signed five student-athletes during the 2017 fall signing period. Head Coach Lou Snelling and staff brings in two distance/cross country runners, two sprinters and a thrower to bolster the program.
Jazzlynn Gaiters (Worthington, Ohio / Thomas Worthington HS), Iyanna Ross (Columbus, Ohio / Pickerington Central HS), Katie Seyfang (Washington Court House, Ohio / Miami Trace HS), Olivia Clymer (White Lake Township, Mich. / White Lake Lakeland HS) and Katerina Shuble (La Porte, Ind. / La Porte HS) will provide the foundation for the 2018-19 signing class.
"These young ladies represent a great start to our 2018 recruiting class," Snelling said. "Many of the qualities we value as a program are represented in these athletes; constant focus on performance, academic prowess, an understanding of the importance of a positive team environment/perception, vision for the future, leadership, and work ethic. I am excited to have them join our Falcon family and look forward to adding other talented athletes to this class."
The BGSU cross country and track and field programs have made strong strides in Snelling's tenure. The women's cross country program is a yearly contender for the MAC Championship, placing in the top four at the MAC Championships in three of the past four seasons. Both the indoor and outdoor track and field programs have seen steady improvement and the Falcons have sent a representative to the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in five consecutive years.
