Lillard, Miller Named Jet's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Jet's Pizza Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's basketball player Antwon Lillard and softball player Meredith Miller.
Male Athlete of the Week
Antwon Lillard, a junior from Cleveland, Ohio, led Bowling Green to a 1-1 week with a pair of strong efforts. For the week, Lillard averaged 11.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.0 blocks. The junior opened the week with the third double-double of his career, as he went 6-for-12 from the floor, and registered 15 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and two steals. In a 19-point comeback win over Eastern Michigan, Lillard shined in a number of areas on his way to a final line of seven points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals. Lillard is shooting 46.9 percent from the floor on the season.
Female Athlete of the Week
Meredith Miller, a junior from Sugar Land, Texas, went 3-0 with an earned-run average of 0.00 as the Falcons were undefeated at the Cleveland State Dome Invitational to start the season. Miller allowed opponents to hit just .095 against her, and has given up only six total hits in 20.0 innings of work. She has walked only three batters while striking out 32. On Friday, Miller threw a gem in the Falcons' season opener. She fired a complete-game one-hitter against Niagara, facing just two batters over the minimum. The one-hitter was the first of her career, and the shutout was her fifth as a Falcon. The next day, Miller threw a complete-game three-hit shutout vs. Canisius. She faced just two hitters over the minimum for the second-straight game en route to shutout number six of her career. On Sunday, Miller allowed just two hits in an 8-1 win over Robert Morris, and struck out 13 batters. She did not issue a walk for the second-straight game, and the one run she allowed was unearned.
