Twelve Members of BGSU Swimming and Diving Named Academic All-MAC

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Twelve members of the Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team have been named Academic All-MAC for the 2017-18 season. The announcement was made by the Mid-American Conference office on Monday morning (March 26). This group of student-athletes is among 106 to earn the honor from the conference's eight teams. In addition, BGSU divers Talisa Lemke (Theater) and Claire Stam (Inclusive Early Childhood Education) are two of the four conference honorees to carry a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
BGSU swimming and diving continues a tradition of excellence in the classroom. Seventeen Falcon student-athletes were named Academic All-MAC following the 2016-17 season, while 15 more were honored after the 2015-16 campaign. Last summer, Bowling Green was designated a College Swimming Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America team. Their 3.69 cumulative GPA led the MAC and ranked in the country among NCAA Division I programs.
The Academic All-MAC program rewards excellence in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have a 3.20 or greater GPA and have competed in at least 50 percent of their team's contests during the season.
