BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team, along with head coach Michael Huger, have announced the signing of Marlon Sierra (Miami, Florida / Miami Senior / Western Nebraska Community College) to a National Letter of Intent. The program announced his signing on Tuesday, May 1.
Sierra is a 6-6 forward that is immediately eligible for the 2018-19 season. Sierra, a graduate of Miami Senior High School, has two years of eligibility remaining for BGSU after spending the previous two seasons at Western Nebraska Community College.
"I'm excited to welcome Marlon Sierra to our program. Marlon will bring some toughness and grit to our power forward position," said head coach Michael Huger. "He has terrific situational awareness and can affect the game in multiple ways. His rebounding, physicality and ability to score will make him a valuable piece of our team the next two seasons. Adding Marlon to our roster gives us a diverse group of players who can contribute at the power forward spot. I believe Marlon will have a terrific career at Bowling Green."
The native of Miami, Florida appeared in 62 games over his two years at Western Nebraska. Sierra made eight starts as a freshman, before making 32 starts as a sophomore. The Cougars went 48-19 over his two-year career at Western Nebraska.

The Cougars went on to defeat Holmes Community College in their first game of the NJCAA National Tournament. In the 87-73 victory over Holmes Community College, Sierra posted double-digit rebounds for the third-consecutive game, as he registered 11 rebounds in the victory.
