Home Opener vs. Minnesota Slated for ESPNU Broadcast

June 4, 2008

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University football program, along with the Mid-American Conference and ESPN, has announced that the Falcons' 2008 home opener vs. the University of Minnesota has been selected by ESPN for distribution on ESPNU. The Sept. 6 game will begin at 7:30 p.m. Eastern.

The Minnesota game will mark the first time a Big Ten Conference institution has faced the football Falcons in Bowling Green.

The Falcons and Golden Gophers will be meeting for the second consecutive season. In the 2007 opener for both teams, BGSU downed Minnesota by a 32-31 final in an overtime thriller inside the Metrodome.

The Falcons' remaining home kickoff times for the 2008 season are scheduled to be announced later this month. BGSU's home schedule also includes games vs. Eastern Michigan (Oct. 4), Miami (Oct. 18), Kent State (Nov. 1) and Buffalo (Nov. 21) at "The Doyt."

The Falcons went 8-5 overall in 2007, tying for the MAC's East Division title with a 6-2 league ledger. Head coach Gregg Brandon's team will open the 2008 campaign at Pittsburgh on Aug. 30.
