Swimming and Diving Falcons Invade Buffalo in Conference Finale

Jan. 31, 2008

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University Swimming and Diving program will travel to Buffalo, New York on Sat. Feb. 2 to close out the conference season against the Bulls. The Orange and Brown will also look to pick up their first win in duel meet competition when the contest begins at 3:00 p.m. at Alumni Arena.

Scouting the Bulls: The University of Buffalo stand at 5-4 overall, going 2-4 in the Mid-American Conference. Last weekend, the Bulls beat the Akron Zips 165-135 at Akron, giving them their second MAC win. Last year, BGSU picked up their first MAC win of the 2006-07 year against the Bulls at Cooper Pool. The Falcons won 11 of 16 events and Alisha Yee won all four she competed in. In addition, six different Falcons won at least one individual event against Buffalo.

Falcon Notes: The Falcons were last in action against rival Toledo where they won two events inside Cooper Pool. Yee picked up the win in the 100 back, giving her 15 individual victories on the year which leads the squad. In addition, a 200 fly victory gave freshman Sarah Burston her first solo win as a Falcon. The Orange and Brown now have a total of 26 first place finishes in the MAC. Against Toledo, BGSU also swam to an additional 11 top three finishes in the loss.
