Lisa Mika, a native of Flossmoor, Ill., was a four-time All-MAC and two-time all-region selection. She led the MAC with a .375 hitting percentage as a freshman. She also led the league in service aces per game that year, setting the school single-match record with 10 vs. Sheridan. As a sophomore, she was a First-Team All-MAC pick, placing second on the team with 365 kills that year. The 1989 team, which included Mika, captured the MAC regular season title, ending Western Michigan's NCAA-record 98-match league winning streak in the process. As a junior, she was named to the All-Mideast Regional team, after setting a school seasonal record with 419 digs and 206 blocks. Then, as a senior, she was named All-MAC First Team and All-Region volleyball, helping the school capture the MAC's regular season and tournament titles, making the school's first ever NCAA Tournament appearance.
Lisa Mika was elected to the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004.
