Mike Weger moved to Bowling Green early in his life when his father was named Director of Bands at BGSU. Weger had an outstanding high school career, and chose BGSU over Oklahoma. He helped the Falcons to an undefeated season as a freshman. He was BG's first major college All-American, after being named to the AP second-team defense.
Weger was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the seventh round in 1967.
Mike Weger was inducted to the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1972.
