Robert Younkin came to BG in 1921, and was a member of the football team from 1921-24 where he played center and also excelled on defense. He is credited to helping the Falcons get there start with the football program. Younkin had the honor of being the captain on the 1923 team. He was selected on the All-Northwestern Conference team three times. He also was a member of the baseball and track squads. In 1925, Younkin assisted Coach Warren Steller.
Robert Younkin was inducted to the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1965.
