One of the toughest running backs in school history, Stew Williams earned three letters (1964-66) rushing for 1,550 yards. He averaged 4.7 yards per carry over his career during which he twice earned first-team All-MAC honors. His best season came as a junior when he rushed for 616 yards. Williams led the Falcons with 606 yards rushing as a sophomore.
Knee problems ended any NFL aspirations for the sixth round pick of the Green Bay Packers.
Stew Williams was inducted to the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1991.
