Tom Stubbs earned four varsity letters as a swimmer for the Falcons, but his collegiate career was interrupted by World War II. He was a freestyle swimmer, before becoming head swimming coach for 18 seasons. In his time as head coach, he produced seven MAC championships, while helping the women's program to the league title in his last season.
Stubbs served two terms on the NCAA Swimming Rules Committee, and was the head referee at four NCAA Championships.
Tom Stubbs was inducted to the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007.
