Bowling Green, Ohio – ESPN has announced that they have selected Bowling Green's football game with Akron on Sept. 28 as an ESPN3 exclusive game. Kick-off has been set for 2:30 pm.
Bowling Green, at 2-1 on the season and 1-0 in the MAC, hosts Murray State in a non-conference game this Saturday at 3:30 pm in a game also broadcast exclusively on ESPN3. Akron, at 1-2 on the season and yet to play a MAC game, will host Louisiana Saturday leading into its first league game of the season against the Falcons.
The Falcons currently lead the East Division of the Mid-American Conference after a 41-22 win at Kent State in week two. Bowling Green leads the MAC in eight different statistical categories with a stout defense that ranks first in the league in scoring defense, total defense, opponent's first downs, red zone defense and opponent's fourth-down conversion percentage.
Individually, redshirt sophomore quarterback Matt Johnson
ranks second in the league in passing yardage and redshirt sophomore running back Travis Greene
is third in the conference in rushing. Freshman running back William Houston
is tied atop the MAC leaderboard with four touchdowns, while BooBoo Gates' two fumbles forced lead the conference and rank sixth nationally.
