Jovannah East Named MAC Gymnast Of The Week

Cleveland, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference has named Bowling Green State University's Jovannah East as the MAC Gymnast of the Week. It is the second time she has received the award this year and the seventh time she has been honored with a weekly conference award in her career.
East won the all-around competition in a quad meet at West Virginia Sunday, and went over 100 career top-three finishes Friday in a dual meet against Central Michigan. In the first meet of the weekend, East scored a 39.250 all-around and then bumped that score to 39.275 at West Virginia.
Entering the weekend, East had 98 career top-three finishes and added seven more, including four victories. She won the vault in each meet with identical 9.850 scores. East, who has 63 career event victories, won the bars at West Virginia for the first time in her career, scoring a career-best 9.825. She scored at least a 9.725 on all eight rotations over the two meets on the weekend.
BGSU, at 6-8 on the season, will compete in a quad meet Friday at Kent State, beginning at 7:00 pm. Along with Kent State, the Falcons will face Brockport and Ursinus.
