November 08, 2021 | Men's Basketball
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program opens the 2021-22 season on the road against the Western Carolina Catamounts on Tuesday, Nov. 9 with a 7:30 p.m. tipoff at Liston B. Ramsey Regional Activity Center. The start of the season will mark the Falcons' 107th season on the court, dating back to the 1915-16 season. The game is set to be broadcasted on ESPN+ with a radio feed being provided by WFRO Eagle 99.
BGSU and Western Carolina will meet for just the fourth time in program history, all happening since 2005. The first two contests between the teams were at neutral locations before the Catamounts made a trip to the Stroh Center in 2018. Both neutral site games saw Western Carolina capture wins, but the most recent game went to the Falcons on their home court. This game will mark the first time Bowling Green has made the trip to Cullowhee, North Carolina to face the Catamounts.Â
Looking back to last season, the Falcons finished out the 2020-21 campaign with a record of 14-12, including a 10-8 showing in conference play. The season's run came to a close with an appearance in the CBI Quarterfinals, coming up just short against Stetson in a 53-52 final.Â
