Men’s Cross Country Travels to Louisville for Live in Lou Cross Country Classic

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University men's cross country team is set to continue their season on Saturday, Oct. 2. The Falcons will compete in the Louisville-hosted Live in Lou Cross Country Classic, their third meet of the season.
Live in Lou Cross Country Classic
The 20th annual Live in Lou Cross Country Classic will be held on Saturday, Oct. 2 at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky. The Falcons will complete in the Blue Division 8k, which will start at 10:45 a.m.

Against the Field
The men's Blue 8k will feature athletes from 68 schools. Bowling Green will represent the Great Lakes Region in the event, along with Purdue Fort Wayne and Wright State. The Falcons are one of seven teams from Ohio competing in the event, joining Mount Union, Ohio Christian, Shawnee State, Wilmington, Wright State, and Xavier.
Last Time Out
The Falcon men posted a 16th place score out of 22 teams in the Spartan Invitational on Sept. 17. Sophomore Mikey Worboy led the way for the Orange and Brown, finishing 100th out of 287 runners and setting a new personal best time of 27:20.1 in the 8k. Michael Nowinski also had a strong showing, placing 111th with a time of 27:37.2 in his first collegiate 8k.
2019 Live in Lou Cross Country Classic
Bowling Green last competed in the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic in 2019, where the Falcons earned a 18th place team score out of 41 teams in the Gold Division race. Six Falcons earned personal bests in the event, including Cesar Arellano (24:43.2), Joseph Johnson III (25:54.0), and AJ Haffa (26:04.8). Arellano finished 60th out of 386 participants in the race, with Johnson and Haffa coming in 232nd and 256th, respectively.

The women's cross country team will participate in the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa., on Friday, Oct. 1. The women's Gold Division 6k event will begin at 11:45 a.m.
Following this weekend's events, the men's and women's cross country teams will return home on Saturday, Oct. 16, for the Falcon Invitational. The meet will take place at the Bowling Green XC Course, with the men running in the Bob Rothermel 8,000m event at 11 a.m. and the women competing in the Steve Price 6,000m event at 12 p.m.
