Jessica Andrews Named MAC East Defensive Player Of The Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced the MAC Players of the Week Monday afternoon (Oct. 31) for the last weekend of competition. Of those named, Bowling Green's freshman middle blocker Jessica Andrews was named the MAC East Defensive Player of the Week. This is Andrews' third time receiving the recognition this season after being named on Sept. 5 and Oct. 3.
Andrews was a force at the net for the Falcons over the weekend. Andrews began the weekend with five total blocks over three sets against Ball State, finishing with one solo and four block assists. She added three kills to her stat line as well. Andrews followed that up with 11 blocks over four sets against Toledo on Saturday, including two solo blocks and nine block assists. The block assists tied Andrews' career-high while the total blocks came one shy. In addition to the blocks, Andrews landed six kills on eight attempts with just one error for a .625 hitting percentage.
