Three Bobblehead Giveaways Announced for the 2022 Football Season

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University has announced three bobblehead giveaways for the 2022 football season. The three bobbleheads are a collector's item that when connected will form a football field
In 2022, BGSU will honor Phil Villapiano, Josh Harris and Kory Lichtensteiger with individual bobbleheads. The individual games each bobblehead will be offered are to be determined.
Football season ticket holders for 2022 can purchase all three in advance for only $30 per season ticket to avoid the lines and secure a bobblehead. Deadline to order is April 11. The season ticket holder can call the Bowling Green Athletics Ticket Office at 419-372-0000 or visit in person the ticket office at the Stroh Center,during normal business hours to add the bobbleheads to their account. Season ticket holders can also email or text at 419-372-0000 to add to their account. Only one set per season ticket purchase and the bobbleheads are not available for individual sale.
Although this option is only offered to season ticket holders, all fans can still pick up bobbleheads day of the game as supplies last (500 bobbleheads).
Villapiano, a three-year starter at defensive end for the Falcons, was a first-team All-MAC selection as a junior and senior. In 1970, Villapiano's efforts were rewarded by being named MAC Defensive Player of the Year. He was a part of three post-season all-star teams following his senior season. Villapiano was drafted in the second round by the Oakland Raiders, and was a finalist for the Raiders Rookie of the Year Award the following season, after leading the team in tackles. He played in four Pro Bowls as an outside linebacker, playing thirteen seasons with the Raiders (nine) and Buffalo Bills (four).
Harris' senior season was one of the greatest in program history as he broke single-season program records for pass completions (325), pass attempts (494), yards passing (3,813), touchdown passes (27) and completion percentage (.658). He was a Davey O'Brien Award semifinalist, honorable mention All-American and an invitee to the 2003 Senior Bowl. The Most Valuable Player of the 2003 Motor City Bowl, Harris engineered a 28-24 win over Northwestern by throwing for 386 yards and three touchdowns, while accounting for 454 total yards.
Lichtensteiger was awarded second-team All-MAC as a guard as well as being recognized as a Freshman All-American by The Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) as a redshirt freshman. In 2005, he was again named second-team All-MAC at guard. Over his final two seasons at BGSU, Lichtensteiger earned first-team All-MAC in 2006 and 2007 as a center and appeared in the 2007 GMAC Bowl. To conclude his collegiate career, Lichtensteiger was a finalist for the Rimington Award and a semifinalist for the Campbell Trophy, awarded to the Best College Football player, considering academics and community service and on-field performance. After the 2007 season, Lichtensteiger entered the NFL Draft and was selected No. 108 overall, in the fourth round, by the Denver Broncos.
