Kleather Named MAC Special Teams Player of the Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University placekicker Jackson Kleather was named Mid-American Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for games played through Aug. 31. It is the first career MAC weekly award for Kleather.
Kleather (Jr., Tipp City, Ohio) was responsible for 14 of the Falcons' 26 points in their season-opening win, going a perfect 4-for-4 on field goal attempts to tie for the second-most makes in a single game in program history. Three of his four field goals came in the second half, including a career-long 56-yarder on the opening drive after halftime. That kick, which extended BGSU's lead to 20-0, tied for the second-longest in school history and marked the longest Falcon field goal since 1995. It also stood as the longest field goal in the MAC this week and tied for the second-longest in the nation.
Bowling Green returns to action on Saturday when the Falcons head south for an in-state showdown with Cincinnati. Kick is set for 3:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN+
