Harold Anderson won 504 basketball games in his 29-year coaching career at Toledo and Bowling Green. Anderson spent his final 21 seasons at the helm of the orange and brown, where his teams compiled a 362-185 record from 1942-63. His teams won three MAC championships, he took six teams to the NIT in New York, and three teams to the NCAA Tournament. Anderson coached 11 All-America players who all went on to play in the NBA. Under Anderson in the 40s, those teams were considered top teams in the country.

Coach Anderson came to Bowling Green after compiling a 142-41 record at Toledo from 1934-42. He was inducted into the National Basketball Hall of Fame in 1985. Upon his retirement from coaching, Anderson continued to serve Bowling Green State University as its athletic director.

Harold Anderson was inducted into the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1966.
