BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) - Josh Almanson scored 16 points and made the go-ahead jumper with 6 seconds remaining, lifting Bowling Green to a 57-56 win over Miami of Ohio on Sunday.
The Falcons (17-8, 10-6 Mid-American Conference) tied Western Michigan for first place in the MAC West Division, with the teams scheduled to play Wednesday night in Kalamazoo, Mich.
The RedHawks (17-8, 11-5) saw their lead in the strong MAC East fall to one game over Buffalo, Akron, Kent State and Ohio.
Miami shot just 6-for-22 from the field in the second half, allowing Bowling Green to rally from a 35-27 halftime deficit.
Almanson's jumper gave the Falcons just their second lead of the second half. Miami had a final possession to go for the win, but Tim Schenke lost the ball out of bounds with 1 second to play.
Miami went ahead 56-55 when Chet Mason made two free throws with 1:00 remaining. Danny Horace missed the front end of a one-one-one with 36 seconds left, preventing the RedHawks from extending their one-point lead.
William Hatcher led Miami with 16 points.
