Falcons Add Two Walk-Ons
October 12, 2010 | Men's Basketball
Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University men's basketball coach Louis Orr has announced the addition of two players for the 2010-11 season. Mike Dabney and Wiley Roberts have been accepted to the team as walk-ons.
Dabney is a 6-foot-8 senior forward/center who played one season of college basketball as a freshman at Concordia University (Mich.) during the 2006-07 campaign. He averaged 9.0 points and 4.7 rebounds per game in his only season with the Cardinals, blocking a team-best 56 shots and shooting 47 percent from the field. The 56 blocked shots rank as the third-highest single season total in Concordia history.
Dabney hails from Detroit, Mich. and played at Detroit Mumford High School, where he was an all-city player. He is a liberal studies major at Bowling Green.
Roberts is a 5-foot-7 senior point guard from Inkster, Mich. He graduated from Robichaud High School in 2007 after playing two years of varsity basketball and was a team captain. He has worked as a manager for the men's basketball team for the past two seasons at Bowling Green.
The 2010-11 Bowling Green men's basketball season gets underway with an exhibition game Nov. 6 at home against Adrian. The Falcons' first regular season game will take place at Howard Nov. 12 and the team's home opener will be Nov. 15 against Ohio Dominican. BGSU will close down the final season of Anderson Arena against Buffalo on either March 4 or 5.
Prior to that, BGSU will be holding its annual Orange and Brown scrimmage this Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Anderson Arena.
