Senior Tracy Pontius scored a game-high 18 points to lead the way, while classmates Jen Uhl and Maggie Hennegan had 14 and 13 points, respectively. Freshman Jillian Halfhill had 11 points off the bench for the Brown and Orange.
Clare Aubry, a transfer from Toledo, led the Oilers with 12 points on the night.
The Falcons forced a total of 30 Findlay turnovers, and BGSU had a 38-6 advantage in points off turnovers.
Trailing by a 6-5 count with several minutes gone, the Brown and Orange proceeded to go on a 19-0 run over a seven-minute span. Sophomore Chrissy Steffen's three-point field goal midway through the first half gave the home team a 24-6 lead.
BG took a 43-20 lead into the half, and the Falcons' advantage never fell below 20 points in the second period.
The Falcons began what would be a trend on Wednesday night, as Steffen stole the ball and sailed in for a layup with under two minutes gone, giving the Falcons a 3-2 advantage. BGSU would have numerous layups in transition off of steals.
Senior Lauren Prochaska came up with a steal of her own just 30 seconds after Steffen, and the two-time Mid-American Conference Player of the Year headed in for a layup of her own and a 5-2 lead.
UF's Laura Bardall and Kayla Brown hit back-to-back hoops to give the visitors a 6-5 advantage, but Hennegan put back her own miss to give the home team the lead for good. After a steal by Uhl, another Hennegan layup resulted in a 9-6 advantage and a Findlay timeout.
Junior Jessica Slagle's steal resulted in a Pontius 'and-one' layup, and redshirt sophomore Danielle Havel sliced between a pair of Findlay players to grab a rebound and lay the ball up and in for a 14-6 advantage at the 12:18 mark.
Pontius spotted Havel for another layup and a 10-point lead, and Pontius then stepped outside the arc and hit a three-pointer. On the next BGSU possession, the senior point guard found Uhl for a layup on the fastbreak. When Prochaska spotted Steffen on the left wing for a trey, BGSU's lead was 24-6.
Findlay was within 21 points, at 51-30, after Aubry's layup at the 16:29 mark of the second half. But, the Brown and Orange then proceeded to go on a 26-2 run. BGSU capped that run by scoring 22-straight points, holding the Oilers scoreless for a span of 9:45.
In the middle of that run, Pontius hit a pair of back-breaking shots. With the shot clock winding down, Pontius fired a three-pointer on the run, with the shot finding nothing but twine. Then, just a minute later, Pontius hit another trey with the clock nearing zero. This shot found the mark as well, and the Falcons had a 68-32 lead midway through the period.
That lead grew as high as 77-32 before the visitors would finally break the Falcon scoring run with 5:34 left.
BGSU had a team total of 16 steals on the night, with Steffen coming up with a game-high four. The sophomore had nine points for the Brown and Orange, while Prochaska and Havel had eighit points apiece.
BGSU held a 39-35 rebounding advantage, with Hennegan pulling down six boards to lead the hosts. The Falcons shot 51.5 percent in the second half en route to a 45.5% field-goal rate for the game.
The Falcons will take to the road to open the regular season at Evansville on Friday, Nov. 12. BGSU's home opener is Monday, Nov. 15, vs. Creighton. The latter game, the first half of a hoops doubleheader at Anderson Arena, begins at 6:00 p.m.
