The Bowling Green State University gymnastics picked up a pair of losses to Western Michigan and Ohio State on Sunday afternoon at Anderson Arena. Ohio State won the meet (195.450), followed by WMU (192.650) and BGSU (190.400).

Despite the loss the Falcons picked up nine season-bests between the four events of the day. Sophomore Monica Eaton came in third for individual results in the uneven parallel bars with a team and personal record score of a 9.750.

Starting with the vault, the Falcons put up a 47.475 score where junior Dawn Christman added a 9.675 for the highest score. Leah Miko posted a career-best 9.500 to finish second for the Orange and Brown.

The Falcons put on their best performance at the uneven parallel bars with a score of 48.125. Eaton's season and team best score pushed the team within a point of the competition. Three of the six gymnasts scored 9.700 or higher in the event, including a pair of season-bests by Sunny Marchand and Amber Brewer (both scoring a 9.700).

The Falcons posted a season-best 46.700 on the balance beam, where they were led by Kasey Fillmore's season-best of 9.675. Freshman Megan Valentini (9.500) and Megan Harrington (9.150) posted season-bests.

The team finished the day with a solid performance on the floor with a 48.100 score for the round. Four of the six gymnasts scored over 9.600. Valentini, Megan Harrington, Eaton, and Fillmore all set season-bests records for the event.

Although the Falcons could not soar away with a victory for the day, they are hopeful going in to their next conference match up next weekend against Kent State on Sunday, Feb. 6th at 2 p.m. at Anderson Arena. The Falcons will enter the match up 0-2 in the MAC and 1-3 overall.
