Dahlman Signs With Cincinnati Bengals
July 28, 2011 | Football
Former Bowling Green State University long snapper Neal Dahlman has agreed to a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals. Dahlman is the second senior on the 2010 team to sign with an NFL team, joining former teammate Tyler Donahue, who signed with the St. Louis Rams earlier this week.
Dahlman played in all 50 games during his four-year career at Bowling Green, serving in the often-unnoticed role as the team's long snapper. In a 2009 game against Missouri, he recovered the ball on the Tigers' 18 yard-line after they fumbled a punt return. That led to a field goal that gave Bowling Green a 13-0 lead over then-No. 25 Missouri in a near-upset. Dahlman played a large role during the season, helping the team earn a trip to the Humanitarian Bowl. He also participated in the 2007 GMAC Bowl with the Falcons.
Dahlman came to the Falcons after being named honorable mention all-state at Providence Catholic High School and hailed from New Lenox, Ill.
