Ali Named MAC Gymnast of the Week

Cleveland, Ohio - Bowling Green sophomore Jamilah Ali was named Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week, following a strong performance on three events that helped the Falcons to their highest season-opening score since 2004, a 192.200 against Ohio State. It is Ali's first time earning the recognition.
Ali was the Falcons' high scorer on vault and floor exercise, posting a 9.85 on vault to finish third in the meet and a 9.8 on floor to finish second overall. Ali's score on vault tied her career high and was the highest of the week in the MAC. Ali also competed balance beam for the Falcons, scoring 9.675 to finish fifth on the event.

The BGSU gymnastics team is back in action Saturday at 4 p.m. in Anderson Arena, taking on Texas Woman's University in a second-straight home contest. Admission is free.
