Falcons Break into AP Poll at No. 25

The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team has broken into the top 25 of the Associated Press poll. The Falcons are ranked 25th in the nation according to the latest AP poll, released Monday (March 10).

The Falcons received 49 points in this week's poll, just outdistancing USC (48 pts.) for the final spot in the top 25. BGSU's appearance in the AP poll is the program's first since March 2, 2009, when BG was listed 25th in both the AP and USA Today polls.

Head coach Jennifer Roos and the Falcons (27-3 overall, 17-1 Mid-American Conference) won the MAC's East Division, for the program's ninth divisional title in the last 10 years. BGSU captured the outright regular-season championship, with the best overall record in the league, for the eighth time in that 10-year span.

BG is the number-one seed for the MAC Tournament, and the Falcons will face an opponent to be determined in semifinal-round action on Friday (March 14) at noon. That game will be held at Quicken Loans Arena in downtown Cleveland.
