Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University gymnastics coach Kerrie Turner has announced that England's Laura Mitchell has signed her letter of intent to compete at BGSU, beginning in the fall of 2014.

Mitchell, who hails from Borehamwood, England, is the daughter of Andy Mitchell and Thomas and Julia Diston. One of the top gymnasts in England, Mitchell will be a key component to the 2014 BGSU class.
Â
"I am so pleased that Laura will be joining our team this fall," Turner said. "I have been fortunate to see Laura compete in the past and she immediately struck me as an amazing talent. She has great ability to execute difficult skills with her signature style. Her beam work in particularly outstanding. I expect Laura will make an immediate impact on our lineups. Her international competition experience will certainly assist her with the exciting and pressure-packed collegiate gymnastics atmosphere."
Â
Mitchell has won five British titles including being named Junior British Champion. She represented her country at the Junior European Championships in 2010, posting her team's highest all-around score. From that performance, she was selected for the Youth Olympics in Singapore.
