January 27, 2015 | General, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball
Bowling Green, Ohio - Don't miss one of the most highly anticipated days in Stroh Center history Saturday! The BGSU women's basketball team hosts arch-rival Toledo at 4 pm in the Battle Of I-75 and the men's basketball team then hosts a pivotal Mid-American Conference East Division game against Akron at 7 pm. Both games are sponsored by Wood County Hospital. But there's much more going on Saturday than just those two contests.
The University's annual mascot reveal will take place at halftime of each contest as Freddie and Frieda are unmasked. As well, the Athletics Department will be recognizing the football team as the first ever Camellia Bowl Champions. Finally, two lucky fans will have the opportunity to win a $500 concessions gift card and Coke for everyone in the arena!
The day kicks off as BGSU women's basketball hosts Toledo at 4 pm. At halftime, the BGSU football team will be recognized as Camellia Bowl Champions. The first Freddie and Frieda reveal will also take place and one BGSU fan will have the opportunity to make a lay-up, free-throw, three-pointer and half court shot for a $500 concessions gift card, courtesy of Sodexo. If that fan wins, every person in attendance will receive a coupon for a free Coke at the concessions stand.
After the women's basketball game ends, the BGSU football team will sign autographs in the Hall of Fame area of the Stroh Center. Football schedule posters from the 2014 season will be available and fans are encouraged to purchase items from the Falcon Team Store to have autographed (CLICK HERE to go to the Falcon Team Store website).
The BGSU men's basketball team will then tip-off against Akron at 7 pm. At halftime, redshirt sophomore quarterback James Knapke will be honored as the Bart Starr award winner as Most Valuable Player of the Camellia Bowl. The second Freddie and Frieda reveal will take place and another BGSU fan will have the opportunity to win a $500 concessions gift card and a free Coke for everyone in attendance!
