Garrett Mayleben Named Academic All-MAC

Cleveland, Ohio – Bowling Green State University redshirt freshman Garrett Mayleben is one of 18 student-athletes named to the 2015 Men's Basketball Academic All-MAC Team, as announced by the Mid-American Conference today.
Mayleben carries a 3.469 grade point average at BGSU. After sitting out the 2013-14 season, he played in 22 games off the bench this past year, averaging 0.7 points and 1.0 rebound per contest. He made his Bowling Green debut and played 16 minutes in the season-opener at Drake, posting three points. He had a season-high three rebounds in a CIT postseason road win at St. Francis (Pa.). In total, Mayleben logged double-digit minutes off the bench 11 times. He was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society, in March of 2015.
Academic All-MAC is for student-athletes who have excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that sport.
