"Demajeo Wiggins is an excellent addition to our program both on and off the court. He will help us in the low post with his size, rebounding and his scoring," commented Coach Huger.
The first signee for Coach Huger and his staff, Wiggins is a local product of Springfield High School in Holland, Ohio where he was coached by former University of Toledo head coach Stan Joplin. Last year as a senior, the 6-8 forward led the Blue Devils to a 17-5 overall record, a sectional title win, and a third-place finish in the Northern Lakes League with a 10-4 conference mark.
Wiggins averaged 12.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game for the Blue Devils to earn All-Northern Lakes League First-Team honors. He was named to the Division I All-District Second-Team and All-Ohio Honorable Mention accolades. Wiggins was also tabbed the Blue Devils' Defensive Player of the Year.
On the year he totaled 299 points, 208 rebounds, 22 blocks, 20 steals and 17 assists for Springfield High.
A member of the Ohio Basketball Club AAU program, coached by Michael Duncan, Barry Egan and Dennis Barba, Wiggins played with Carlton Bragg (Kansas signee), Devon Andrews (Kent State signee) and Peter Barba (Columbia University signee).
Wiggins chose Bowling Green over Toledo, IPFW, Tennessee State, Bethune-Cookman, Oakland and Illinois State.
