Men’s Basketball To Compete In 2018-19 Legends Classic

PRINCETON, N.J./BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program will compete in the Legends Classic during the 2018-19 season. The tournament announced the full field Thursday (March 29) morning. The complete schedule for the 2018 Legends Classic will be announced at a later date.
The 2018 Legends Classic field consists of St. John's, Temple, VCU, California, Bowling Green, Detroit Mercy, Hampton and Loyola Maryland. Bowling Green will play four games as part of the event.
"We are excited about the opportunity to participate in the Legends Classic," said head coach Michael Huger. "The team and staff are already looking forward to the 2018-19 season, and playing against high-major opponents will be a great early test for our squad. With a strong nucleus of talent returning, the Legends Classic will give us an opportunity to prepare for MAC play and an eventual run in the NCAA Tournament."
The event will start with a regional round at campus sites. For this portion of the tournament, the host schools will be California, St. John's, Temple and VCU. Bowling Green will play against two of those schools, and they will both be true away games for the Falcons.
Bowling Green will conclude the Legends Classic with two more games over Nov. 19-20. This portion of the tournament will be hosted by Detroit Mercy. Along with Detroit Mercy and Bowling Green, Hampton and Loyola Maryland will also be at this sub-regional.
