Jenna Faultersack's three-run home run capped that four-run first for the Broncos. The Falcons got a run back in the bottom of the inning, when junior Kali Holcomb's sacrifice fly plated classmate Alex Sorgi, but the visitors broke the game wide open in the third inning, scoring eight times.

QUOTING COACH WILLIS
"Our pitchers have to figure out how to come out strong on day two of a series, after the opposing hitters have seen them (the day before). Whether it's creating a different look or just trusting in the game plan, we just have to be a bit more adjustable and a lot stronger in the circle, to give our ball club an opportunity to have success."

BGSU-WMU – HOW IT HAPPENED
- On a windy day at Meserve Field, the Broncos took the lead in the top of the first. Mackenzie Swinehart led off the game with a double, moved to third on a sacrifice bunt and scored on Samantha Coffel's single up the middle.
- After a Marlee Wilson base hit put a pair of runners aboard, Jenna Faultersack got a ball up in the jet stream, and her fly ball landed on the netting on top of the visitors' bullpen in right field. The three-run homer gave the Broncos a 4-0 lead.
- In the bottom of the first, junior Alex Sorgi led off with a bunt single against WMU starter Jordan Kurth, and freshman Payton Hamm moved Sorgi to second with a sac bunt. Senior Aspen Searle lined a single through the left side of the Bronco infield to put runners at the corners, and Kali Holcomb lifted a fly ball to center, with Sorgi tagging and scoring easily.
- The Falcons kept the Broncos off of the scoreboard in the second inning, in part by turning a nifty 6-4-3 double play which saw first baseman Kaylee Parker make a nifty scoop of the relay throw. But, Western broke the game open in the third.
- The Broncos began that third inning with three-straight singles, including a Coffel liner that was just over the glove of a leaping Searle at shortstop and a seeing-eye grounder by Wilson that was just out of the reach of both BG pitcher Brooke Parker and second baseman Sammy Dees.
- Faultersack walked, and Sydney Stefanick singled, scoring a run in each case. Freshman Madison French entered the game and got a ground ball that resulted in an out at the plate, but Skyler Sobeski followed with a 2-run double, and hits by Swinehart and Coffel each added to the Broncos' lead.
- Western scored two more runs in the fourth, on a Sobeski single and a Logan Carter groundout.
- Freshman Olivia Riener made her BGSU debut, entering the game with one down in the fourth inning, and she retired the side in the fifth on three routine grounders.
- BGSU, however, went in order in each of the final four innings. The Falcons' last two outs came on line drives, as Kellie Natham's hard-hit ball was caught by the shortstop and a Nikki Sorgi liner was snagged by WMU reliever Reily Galloway to end the game.
BGSU-WMU STATS & LEADERS

- The Falcons' lone hits both came in the first inning, on singles by Alex Sorgi and Searle.
- Kurth picked up the win for the Broncos, allowing one run and two hits in four innings of work. She struck out four and did not walk a batter. Galloway pitched a one-two-three fifth, although two of the outs she recorded came on line drives.
