Falcon Women Earn WICCCA Academic Honor For Second Consecutive Year

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Women's Intercollegiate Cross Country Association has named the 2002-03 All-Academic Teams, and the Bowling Green State University squad is on the national list for the second consecutive year. The Falcons of head coach Cami Wells have qualified as an Academic All-American Cross Country Team with Distinction, also for the second-straight year.
With a team grade point average of 3.31 through the fall, 2002, semester, BGSU ranked 58th among all NCAA Division I institutions. BG ranked third among Mid-American Conference schools. A total of 118 institutions had a team GPA of 3.00 or better to earn the Academic All-American Team honor.
Schools with a team GPA of 3.25 or higher earn the "with distinction" honor.
BGSU's cumulative team GPA, which was at 3.31 when the nominations were made, has risen to a whopping 3.42 through the spring semester. A total of 13 student-athletes that were on the 17-woman squad during 2002-03 have a cumulative GPA of better than 3.00.
