EAST LANSING, Mich. (BGSUFalcons.com) - The Bowling Green State University men's soccer team wrapped up its spring schedule with a narrow loss to Michigan State University Saturday (April 25). The Spartans scored midway through the second half for a 1-0 win over the Falcons.
The lone goal came off of an MSU corner kick in approximately the 65th minute of the match.
"We went up there to win, so the result is disappointing," said Falcon head coach Eric Nichols. "But, this spring has been about learning and progressing, and we have done a lot of both."
The Spartans are the defending Big Ten Conference regular-season and tournament champions, and defeated the Falcons by a 4-0 score last fall at Cochrane Field (Oct. 29, 2008).
Nichols and the Falcons end the spring portion of the schedule with a 2-1-0 record, having outscored the opposition by a 6-1 aggregate.
