Schneider Brings Home Pair of Awards

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Matt Schneider, a member of the Bowling Green State University men's golf team, was named to the Mid-American Conference All-Tournament Team as well as first-team All-MAC.
Schneider becomes the first member of the BGSU golf team to ever be named to the MAC All-Tournament Team and is the first, first-team All-MAC member since 1995 when Nick Myers earned first-team honors.
Schneider, a native of Grand Rapids, Minn., was named MAC Golfer of the Week three times this season (John Piper, Earl Yestingsmeier and Palmas Del Mar Invitational), while averaging 73.82 strokes per round this season through 34 rounds.
He saved one of his best tournaments of the season for last, finishing in a tie for fifth at the MAC Championships. Schneider led the tournament after 18 holes of action, carding a 2-under, 70. Following his 77 in round two Schneider first a 5-under, 67, in round three to once again place him in the top five. His final round 74 gave him an even-par 288.
