Men's Golf Continues Season at Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational

The Bowling Green State University men's golf team looks to continue a hot start to their 2009-10 season as they compete on Monday and Tuesday, September 21-22, at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.
The Falcons are coming off of the John Piper Intercollegiate, during which Matt Schneider earned a repeat championship at the tournament and helped the Falcons to a team victory.
Joining the Falcons in this year's 15 team field are: Austin Peay, Ball State, Belmont, Cincinnati, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, IPFW, IUPUI, Loyola-Chicago, Ohio University, Valparaiso, Vincennes, Wright State and Youngstown State.
The tournament will be 54 holes, with the first 36 being played on Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday. Each day will feature a shotgun start at 9:00am. The action will be at the Delaware Country Club, which features a par-70, 6,438-yard course. Live scoring every three to six holes can be found at www.golfstat.com.
In the 2008 Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational, the Falcons finished in 5th place with a final score of 873 (284-287-302).
John Powers and Matt Schneider tied for second place overall with individual scores of 209. Powers had rounds of 68-69-72, while Schneider carded scores of 69-66-74. Both players earned MAC Golfer of the Week honors for their performance.
Parker Hewit and Chad Walker both tied for 38th last year with scores of 223, while Bryan Mitchell (232) and Scott Blackburn (251) also competed.
