Vote For Your Favorite Name For The Stroh Center Team Store
Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University Athletic Department, in partnership with the BGSU Bookstore, has announced the final four candidates for the name of the team store that will be part of the Stroh Center when the new arena opens for the 2011-12 season. Fans are invited to vote on their favorite name at BGSUFalcons.com.
Earlier this year, the Bowling Green Athletic Department took nominations for the team store name from fans via BGSUFalcons.com. The four finalists chosen are “The Falcon Fanatic Store™”, “Freddie's Locker™”, “The Bird's Nest™”, and “Ziggy's Zone™”. Fans are able to vote for their choice of finalists until March 1, 2010.
The team store will feature an approximately 1,500 square-foot retail shop with the latest Falcon athletics gear in a highly-visible corner space in the Stroh Center. Open throughout the year and for special events, the store will also serve as the fulfillment center for the online team store.
The Stroh Center will be the new home of the volleyball and basketball programs and is set to open in time for the 2011-12 season. Kerm and Mary Lu Stroh announced the largest single private gift in BGSU history on March 1, 2008, an $8 million donation in which $7.7 million was earmarked for the new Convocation Center. Groundbreaking took place on Sept. 3, 2009 and the facility is currently under construction along Wooster Avenue in Bowling Green.
