RESULTS
The Bowling Green State University men's golf team carded a 54-hole score of 908 (299-308-301) to finish in a tie for 10th at the Palmas Del Mar Intercollegiate in Humacao, Puerto Rico.
Senior John Powers led all Falcons, finishing the 82-player field in a tie for sixth. The Bowling Green, Ohio, native shot rounds of 72-75-72 to finish with a total score of 219, nine shots better than the nearest Falcon.
Sophomore Drew Preston got off to a rough start, shooting a 47 in his opening nine holes, but recovered to finish that day with an 81 and shot 76 and 71 in his final 36 holes of play. He finished in a tie for 36th.
Also competing for the Orange and Brown were Matt Schneider (229, T-39th), Wes Gates (232, T-45th), Scott Blackburn (241, T-66th) and Chad Walker (234, T-52nd). Walker competed as an individual, which meant his scores could not be used for the team score.
The Falcons will return to action on Mar. 27 at the Ball State Cardinal Classic.
