Men’s Golf Gets Back Into Swing of Things With Trip to Jasper, IN

The Bowling Green State University men's golf team will travel to Jasper, Ind. to compete in the 2010 Ball State Cardinal Classic on Mar. 27-28. The 54-hole event will take place at Sultan's Run Golf Club.
The Field
Ball State, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Cleveland State, DePaul, Eastern
Kentucky, Evansville, IPFW, IUPUI, Marshall, Miami University, Oakland, Valparaiso, Wright State and Youngstown State.
Tournament Schedule
The tournament will consist of 54 holes with 36 holes being played
Saturday and the final 18 holes scheduled for Sunday. There will be a shotgun start
each day.
Tournament Scoring
Scoring will be five players, count the low four scores each round.
Live Scoring
There will be Live Scoring available at www.ballstatesports.com and
www.golfstat.com. Live Scoring will be available every three or six holes.
About the Falcons
The Falcons will enter this weekend's tournament with a scoring average of 294.20, currently the lowest scoring average in school history. The current BGSU record is held by the 2007-08 squad that averaged 296.00 per round.
According to www.mac-sports.com the Falcons' Drew Preston, Matt Schneider and John Powers all rank in the top 15 in scoring averages. Preston is ninth with an average of 73.35, followed by Schneider (73.65, 10th) and Powers (74.10, 13th).
Parker Hewit is fourth on the team with a scoring average of 74.76, which ranks 23rd in the MAC, followed by freshman Wes Gates, who is 26th with an average of 75.40. Gates' average ranks third in the MAC among freshmen, behind just Ball State's Joe Gasser (74.06) and Akron's Cameron Simmons (74.56).
