Schneider Named MAC Golfer of the Week

Matt Schneider, a member of the Bowling Green State University men's golf team, was named the Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week after his efforts at the BSU Cardinal Classic this past weekend. Schneider shared the honor with Kent State's Mackenzie Hughes and Eastern Michigan's Cam Burke.
Schneider earned medalist honors at the Cardinal Classic, carding a 213 (71-71-71), lapping the field by five shots. It was the senior's first time in his career he posted three straight sub-par rounds in the same tournament.
The win was Schneider's second this season and third of his career which is now tied for the most in school history with Ken Walters (1972-75). Schneider's other win this season came in the opening tournament of the year after firing a 211 (72-72-67) at the John Piper Intercollegiate.
The Grand Rapids, Minn., native, who earned first-team All-MAC honors last season, ranks eighth in the conference with a 73.30 average and is the only golfer in the MAC to have won two tournaments this year.
