The Bowling Green State University men's golf team finished fourth at the Rutherford Intercollegiate in College Park, Pa., with a team score of 906 (299-307-300).
Penn State won the tournament with a score of 879, followed by Towson (899) and Ohio (902) to round out the top three.
Drew Preston had his best tournament in some time, carding a 224 to finish in a tie for 11th. The sophomore opened with a 72-77 and shot 75 on Sunday.
Fellow classmate Parker Hewit had the Falcons' low round on Sunday, firing a 73. The sophomore finished in a tie for 16th with a score of 226 (78-75-73).
Seniors Matt Schneider and John Powers were third and fourth on the team, finishing in a tie for 23rd. Schneider improved by one shot each day (77-76-75), while Powers went 72-79-77. Both finished with total scores of 228.
Wes Gates and Chad Walker also competed this weekend. Gates finished 71st with a score of 245 (81-80-84) and Walker, who competed as an individual, finished tied for 60th with a score of 239 (79-79-81).
Up next for the Orange and Brown will be the Mid-American Conference Championships in Nashport, Ohio, at Longaberger Golf Club on Apr. 30-May 2.
