Karmen Coffey Named Academic All-MAC

Cleveland, Ohio – Bowling Green softball player Karmen Coffey was selected to the Academic All-MAC team Thursday. Coffey, a native of Carlyle, Saskatchewan, completed her senior season and posted a 3.68 grade point average in pre-liberal studies.
Coffey played in all 42 games for the Falcons, starting 39 of those games in the outfield. She was second on the team with five home runs and 18 RBI, adding 20 runs scored. She was also stellar on the base paths, stealing 18 bases in only 19 attempts. Since transferring from Galveston College, Coffey played in all 88 games over the past two seasons.
In order to be nominated for the Academic All-MAC team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. As well, first-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residency are not eligible for the award.
