Preston Earned Second Career Victory at John Piper Intercollegiate
This afternoon, the Mid-American Conference named Bowling Green State University junior Drew Preston as MAC Golfer of the Week.
Preston shot 139 over 36 holes at the rain-shortened John Piper Intercollegiate this week, held at the Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio. Preston's rounds of 70 and 69 placed him at five-under-par on the par-72 course and helped him win the tournament by five strokes. His victory helped the Falcons win the team championship; BGSU scored 580 for the tournament and won by 11 strokes.
Preston has two individual medalist honors to his name during his career with the Falcons. He has three other top-five finishes in his 26 tournaments with the team.
This is the third time that Preston has won MAC Golfer of the Week honors. He earned the award in his sophomore season after winning the Earl Yestingsmeier Intercollegiate. In his freshman campaign, he won the award after his first tournament with the Falcons, when he placed third at the Rutherford Intercollegiate.
